About Sarah R. Kostelecky
Sarah R. Kostelecky (Zuni Pueblo) is the Education Librarian at the University of New Mexico. Previously she was a librarian in UNM’s Indigenous Nations Library Program and has also been a children’s services librarian at the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Libraries. Sarah’s research interests focus on supporting underserved patrons, informed by her previous role as Library Director at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico and her current position at UNM, a Hispanic-serving institution.
Her work includes co-editing a special issue of the journal Collection Management focused on Indigenous collections and the creation of a LibGuide highlighting Native American perspectives on the #NODAPL movement.
Sarah was a Spectrum Scholar and Knowledge River Scholar and received her Master of Information Resources and Library Science and Bachelor of Sociology degrees from the University of Arizona.
